JOINT REPLACEMENT CAMP

Designed for those who are considering or who have scheduled total hip or total knee replacement surgery. The Willis-Knighton Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Institute offers participants insight into the joint replacement process, from pre-admission planning to surgery, follow-up and rehabilitation.

Tuesdays, Noon 4th Floor Conference Room This support group is designed to help patients and their loved ones discuss the emotional challenges and other concerns often faced by patients with cancer.

Look Good, Feel Better

Monday, Aug. 3, 11:30 a.m. 4th Floor Conference Room This two-hour, hands-on workshop includes a 12-step skin care/makeup application process, demonstration of options for dealing with hair loss and nail techniques. Patients also use and take home complimentary cosmetic kits in their appropriate skin tones with helpful instruction booklets.

Coping With…Cancer: Palliative Care

Wednesday, Aug. 5, Noon 2nd Floor Conference Room This workshop is designed to provide patients with the tools needed to successfully navigate cancer and its treatments while helping patients transition into survivorship.

Men to Men: Effects of Cancer Treatment on Family Life

Wednesday, Aug. 19, Noon 2nd Floor Conference Room This educational workshop gives cancer patients and their loved ones information on cancer related issues that will be of value before, during and after cancer treatment. Patients and caretakers will also have the opportunity to discuss their concerns with knowledgeable healthcare professionals.
