Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., a privately held national retail chain of craft and home decor stores, is set to open a new store in Bossier City. Construction is underway on this 57,000 square-foot building located at 1051 George Dement Blvd., in Kroger Marketplace on the corner of George Dement Boulevard and Airline Drive. This is Hobby Lobby’s 14th location in Louisiana, which is projected to open in late October. The location will bring about 35–50 jobs to the community paying $15.24 per hour for full-time and $10.16 per hour for part-time associates. This major Oklahoma City-based private corporation offers more than 70,000 crafting and home decor products in its stores. Departments include floral, fabric, needle art, custom framing, baskets, home accents, wearable art, arts and crafts, jewelry making, scrapbooking and papercrafting supplies. Store hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. All Hobby Lobby stores are closed on Sunday. Dr. Hector Brunet has joined Dr. Gerardo Negron and Dr. Guillermo Padilla-Pineda in Shreveport Infectious Disease at 8001 Youree Drive, Suite 750 on the campus of WK Pierremont Health Center. Brunet comes to the Willis- Knighton Physician Network after completing a fellowship in Infectious Disease at LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport. After earning his medical degree from Juan Bautista School of Medicine in 2008, Brunet served an internship in general surgery and an internal medicine residency program in Puerto Rico.
