For Maccentric owner Thomas Avallone, becoming an Apple Authorized Service Provider has been in the cards since his youth. “Maccentric was born of my lifelong passion for all things Apple. I received my first Apple computer, a Mac SE/30 at the age of ten, and something about it just resonated with me,” said Avallone. “Before Maccentric started in 2006, there had not been an Apple Authorized Service Provider in Shreveport-Bossier for almost six years so it seemed only natural for me to step up and see what I could do about that.”

Avallone and his team at Maccentric are very focused on the needs of the Shreveport-Bossier area. “The soundtrack, if you will, of Maccentric continues to be the soothing melody of community. Maccentric was created expressly to serve this area- to meet a need that was not previously being met,” he explained. “It is very important to us to support the local community in the same way the community has supported us over the years. Maccentric is approaching ten years in business because of the loyalty and enthusiasm of our amazing customers.” Maccentric’s customers are the foundation of Avallone’s business. “Their support and genuine gratitude for our work has made all the difference. Our customers refer friends and family, post online about their positive experiences, and cheerlead for us on social media. Nothing pleases me more as a business owner than when someone posts to Facebook about a misbehaving Mac or broken iPhone and there is a flurry of replies to call Maccentric,” Avallone said. “That is the lifeblood of any business and more powerful than the most wellconceived marketing campaign. It is also how I know we are getting most things right.”

Avallone had an amazing pair of mentors growing up - his father and brother, both Louis. “My father immigrated to the United States from Italy in 1964, and started his own business, Avallone Architectural Specialties, in 1976. It now employs over two dozen people in Shreveport. They have always provided me with guidance and wisdom that have served me well and stand as an example that with hard work and passion for what you do, anything is possible.”

Maccentric is involved with several events around the Shreveport-Bossier area. “This year, we were a sponsor of the American Advertising Federation of Shreveport-Bossier’s ADDY Awards and we continue to support the Norla Preservation Project and Renzi Education & Art Center. We just recently joined the team at The Rewind, an ongoing series at the Robinson Film Center that screens cult classic films, and we will again support the Highland Jazz & Blues Festival and Louisiana Film Prize this year,” he explained.

Maccentric is located in the Shoppes at Bellemead, next to Talbots. They also make onsite visits to customers’ homes and offices. To Avallone, Maccentric is not just business, it’s personal. “Love what you do and do good work for people. The rest will take care of itself.”
