For Shreveport native Kyle Loyd, owner of The Colony House, owning a business involving creativity was a natural rogression. “I went to LSU in Baton Rouge and earned a bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture all while working for a local floral company part-time. When I moved back to Shreveport in the fall of 2011 my experience lead me to a unique opportunity to begin the transition of ownership with The Colony House,” he said. The Colony House is now in its 39th year in business serving the local community. “I have been working to bring my formal training and passion for design to the local market place - giving a fresh contemporary twist to a classic traditional style. I don’t think of us as a standard flower shop or home gift store, but rather as a business that caters to the whole home experience from the latest

home decor to gifts for any occasion to floral arrangements and landscape design services,” said Loyd. The Colony House has you covered from the inside to the outside. In addition to every day floral and gifts, they also provide services for weddings and parties large or small, as well as many special functions in the Shreveport / Bossier area.
