The Plumbing Warehouse is ringing in a new era. After thirty years of service, Jane Allen, the patriarch of the showroom is retiring. Stepping in to fill her shoes is a woman she trained twenty years ago, a woman returning to her roots; Kristina Hatfield. In those twenty years, Kristina has worked for another plumbing supplier and owned her own plumbing showroom. One might say that in the past couple of decades she has had plumbing running through her veins. “I love the fact that I’m able to come back to where it all started for me,” Kristina says. “With the years I’ve had as the showroom manager for Red River Supply, and then as a small business owner of The Home Specialties Gallery, I’m looking forward to bringing all I’ve learned over the years back to The Plumbing
Holly, like Kristina, has a background of plumbing knowledge. Having been trained twelve years ago by Kristina while they were both employed with Red River Supply, she then joined Kristina when she conference table that had her at one end and me at the other. I couldn’t imagine not furthering my plumbing career with the one who taught me all I know. And until Jane retires we have three generations of plumbing showroom girls in one building. I think that’s pretty incredible.” Between the two of them they have over thirty years of showroom experience. “Holly and I are a team. We work best together,” says Kristina. “She can read my notes and decipher what I’m talking about even when sometimes I can’t.” Relatively new to the plumbing industry, Melody English rounds out the trio. With twenty-two years of flooring experience under her belt, Melody is excited about the future and the prospects the world of plumbing has to offer. “The best part of my job is meeting new people. For me,” Melody says, “It’s gratifying, whether new flooring or new plumbing, to see the vision come from a set of house plans to what the customer has envisioned. I love that I get to be a part of that.” With a new era comes a new vision. The Plumbing Warehouse and their team of showroom specialists are eager to work with homeowners, designers, plumbers, and architects for remodels and new construction projects. But why stop at plumbing? Roderick Johnson, the manager of The Plumbing Warehouse, is adding lighting to their three thousand square foot showroom. “Since gas lights are installed by the plumber, it made sense for us to start there. Then the more we thought about it we realized that we have the space to do more,” he says. “We decided to utilize our space as best as we could. Lighting adds that much more to our showroom.” With lighting, plumbing, door hardware, and bathroom accessories, The Plumbing Warehouse and their experienced staff of showroom consultants will work hard to make sure that whatever the project is you are working on, it is done with style and efficiency. “We are here for you,” Kristina says. “Whether you have a Pinterest board full of ideas or you have no idea where to start, we are here to help you. That’s our goal. In the end, we just want the customer happy.” And with the experience these ladies have in the field, selecting the fixtures for you remodel or new construction should be a piece of cake. “There is so much that goes into remodeling or building a new house,” Holly says. “From paint, to floors, to cabinets- plumbing should be the least of their worries.” The glue that holds the showroom together is Administrative Assistant, Cindy Dunn. Cindy, even on the craziest of days, keeps the girls organized by making sure the showroom stays in perfect working order. All of the ladies agree she is the most valuable person on their team. So with new faces to The Plumbing Warehouse, where do they see things going? Nowhere but up. All of the ladies have high hopes and even higher expectations for the future of the company and for themselves. Cathy Carr, the showroom manager says, “We feel like the addition to our team not only offers the Shreveport/ Bossier community the best selection of fixtures in town, but also the most knowledgeable staff.” The Plumbing Warehouse is located at 235 Lynbrook Blvd in Shreveport. They are open Monday-Thursday, 8AM-5PM and on Friday’s, 8AM- 4PM.
