Darrow, managing and artistic director at Shreveport Little Theatre,
will share with residents and community guests the history of what is
considered the oldest continuously producing community theater in
America. The 170-seat theater’s Rural English architecture style is
iconic to longtime Shreveporters and the theater’s ability to not only
survive but thrive despite two major fires is testament to the
community’s enjoyment of first-rate theater productions on Margaret

incomparable Maredia Bowdon returns to The Oaks with the true story of
Anne Butler, the owner of Butler Greenwood Plantation/Bed and Breakfast,
and her husband, the former warden of Angola State Prison, who shot
Anne five times and left her for dead. No doubt Bowdon’s presentation
will offer intrigue along with riveting storytelling. Her reviews are
one-woman shows themselves and a must-see with residents and community

Violins for Two with a Side of Piano
Guest Performers: Matt Albert, Jennifer Carsillo and Michael Butterman

Shreveport
Symphony Orchestra’s concertmaster, Matt Albert, will join fellow
symphony violinist Jennifer Carsillo for a special Oaks performance that
will feature works for violin by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann
Sebastian Bach. Maestro Michael Butterman will accompany the duo. The
selections will include Concerto for Two Violins in D minor by Bach and
Table Music for Two by Mozart. Prior to the concert, concertgoers can
view the symphony’s “Painted Violins Project,” violins that have been
transformed into works of art by 17 regionalartists. Proceeds from the raffle of the violins will support the musical and educational mission of the symphony. $5, nonresidents. Registration is required.
