Bossier Chamber takes a new spin on business event
The Bossier Chamber of Commerce is putting networking in the fast lane. With the first of two Morning Blend Speed Networking event this year, this is just another way the Bossier Chamber of Commerce is working to help the community get connected.
“Morning Blend is simply an upbeat networking event with an accelerated twist,” Ginger Collier, director of communications for the Bossier Chamber of Commerce, said. “This is a fresh way to build your business database in a time-efficient manner. This program is designed to allow attendees a quick and entertaining opportunity to introduce themselves and pitch their company through a fast rotation that will keep people engaged and allow for maximum exposure in minimal time!” The first Morning Blend Speed Networking is March 26 at Your Room by Johnson’s, 814 Shreveport Barksdale Highway, Shreveport. The event begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 9:30 a.m. The cost is $5 for chamber members and $10 for non-chamber members.
The event is set up similar to speed dating with a very structured program that helps participants break the ice and make connections with other business leaders. Collier said everyone is there for the same purpose – to make connections.
“People are always looking for new ways to put themselves out there and make new connections,” Collier said. “Networking helps to create and sustain business relationships, and it’s important to the Bossier Chamber to continue to provide the business community with relevant and meaningful opportunities to get connected and grow their business.”
Chamber member Mollie Corbett is emceeing the event. Corbett owns her own photography business and recently joined the Bossier Chamber of Commerce. Corbett said one of her passions is bringing professionals together in a beneficial way to grow the community.
“We all have a part to play, but we’ve got to reach out and get to know each other,” Corbett said. “Speed networking is a fun way to do just that! We are stronger and more influential when we work together. Success is a team sport.”
Collier said Corbett’s main purpose is to keep the conversation and rounds going, and that she is the perfect choice with her energetic spirit.
“[Corbett] just joined the chamber, and networking was her No. 1 reason to join,” Collier said. “And, as a brand new member, she’s stepping in as the ‘host’ of the brand new networking event!” The chamber’s purpose is to connect business to business.
“The chamber hosts several different networking events each year which help to serve our membership by providing an opportunity to make relevant business connections,” Collier said. “This year, the chamber challenged itself to think outside of the box in order to bring the right programs that meet the diverse needs within our membership base. The Morning Blend Speed Networking event was a good addition to our wheelhouse because it’s structured and gives participants an active and intentional role in building relationships.”
The next Morning Blend Speed Networking event will be in November.
