Brunch: It was a rainy Sunday morning, but Barkus and Meoux members and other krewes made it Jan. 11 to El Dorado Casino for the Barkus and Meoux jazz brunch. Auction items included a history dinner for six and items from Great Raft Brewing, Sid Potts, Inc. and Mabry House.

Susan’s Closet: Susan’s Closet, the annual event that benefits Susan G. Komen and simultaneously helps teens get gently used formal dresses for proms and pageants, changed locations to University Church of Christ this year. The event was held Jan. 24. Members of ZTA from Centenary College and alumnae assisted.

Dancing with the Stars: The media stars were revealed Jan. 20 at Great Raft Brewing for the Susan G. Komen Dancing with the Stars event. The show will be April 9 at Horseshoe’s Riverdome. The media stars are Dan Jovic of KTAL; Tatum Everett of KTBS; Charisse Gibson of KSLA; Ferrari Foxx of KTAS; Keristen Holmes of KTBS; and Doug Warner of KSLA.

Weddings with Style: Weddings with Style International Magazine held its annual Style Show on Jan. 25 at the Bossier Civic Center. The show featured plenty of ideas for brides and grooms for weddings. Guests were also able to enter in a drawing to win a free honeymoon vacation.
