Dr. Monica Sehgal has established WK Women’s Specialists at South at WK Canterbury Square, 2530 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Suite 112, on the campus of Willis-Knighton South and the Center for Women’s Health. Sehgal joins the Willis-Knighton Physician Network following an affiliation with a health system in Texas. At Women’s Specialists at South, Sehgal plans to create a patient-oriented, family-friendly atmosphere for women of all ages.

Towne South Animal Hospital has been named one of Louisiana State University’s 100 Tiger Owned Businesses for 2014. The animal hospital, owned by Kathryn McFadden, DVM, was recognized during a luncheon recently in Baton Rouge. Created and hosted by the LSU Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute, the LSU 100: Fastest Growing Tiger Businesses (LSU 100) identifies, recognizes and celebrates the 100 fastest growing Tiger-owned or Tiger-led businesses in the world. In addition to celebrating the honorees, the LSU 100 provides a forum to pass lessons on to the next generation of LSU entrepreneurs.
Dean of Students Mark Miller has been named president of the Louisiana Association of College and University Student Personnel Administration. LACUSPA is Louisiana’s leading professional organization working to address issues facing the many different areas of student affairs in higher education. Organization membership includes student affairs administrators, faculty and graduate students at 25 public and private institutions. The work of its members directly impacts the lives of over 200,000 students. Miller will serve a one-year term as president and an additional year as past-president. He is the first member of the Centenary community ever to serve as president and only the third representative from a private college or university to be president of the organization in its 40-year existence.
Louisiana State University- Shreveport has once again reached national recognition for their unique style of programs offered on campus. According to the website “Affordable Colleges Online,” LSUS was ranked second out of 68 universities in providing the best online master’s degree in business administration program. LSUS was one of three universities from Louisiana that was named in the ranking and the only one in the Top 20.
