2014 ATHENA Awards
Sixteen nominees from Shreveport-Bossier City were honored at the 2014 ATHENA Awards on Oct. 23 at the Shreveport Convention Center. From the 16, two were selected for the prestigious award presented to individuals who have attained and personify the highest level of excellence and creativity in their business or profession while continuing to devote time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community and have actively assisted women in achieving their full leadership potential through service and mentorship. Jan Elkins, of the Bossier Chamber of Commerce, and Lea M. Desmarteau, of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce, both took home the 2014 ATHENA Award.
