“We specialize in residential architecture; anywhere from 2,000 square foot houses to 8,000 square foot houses, or whatever the customer needs. We are a full architectural design company, and we work directly with homeowners and contractors as our base.” says owner and designer Yancy Cazes. “We can do custom homes, and work within a client’s budget. If a client wants to spend x amount of dollars, we can try to take it element by element - do certain things in the home to make it their own. However, each element costs money, so we try to work with budget and guide the homeowner in the right direction.” says Cazes. They also have a large selection of house plans available for you to choose from, or can work with you to bring your design idea to life.
Architecture is not just a way to make a living, but is also a calling for Cazes. “I’ve been drawing homes for 19 years now. From the moment I graduated high school and headed to architecture school, this is all I’ve done.” he says. “We have only been working in Northwest Louisiana for about a year and a half now, but we designed about 120 homes in 2013 - about 10 homes a month.” says Cazes.
Elements from Cazes’ upbringing are a part of his design style today. “I’m from Baton Rouge, and I do seem to draw a little different than others in the area. My homes tend to have a little bit more of that Southern Louisiana feel to them, and I think people are really looking for that and that’s why we’ve been so successful.” he says. Rapid Home Designs live up to their name - a quick, affordable turnaround on an elegant design. “We give a fair price because it’s what I do. It’s the one thing in the world I’m good at, so it may come easier to me than other people, and our prices are in line with that.” says Cazes. “It doesn’t take us 2 months to produce drawings - if a customer needs it we can produce a full set of construction documents within a week.” he says.
Architecture is a labor of love for Cazes and his Rapid Home Designs team. “When you find what you’re good at, you’ve got to ride that train until someone kicks you off.” he says.
