Movin’ & Shakin’ For a Good Cause

Every year, nominations are made to the ARTini committee for the coveted Mover & Shaker’s Award. This award honors an individual in the community who works to improve the quality of life in Bossier City and one who is a supporter of the arts.

The 2014 winner of the Mover & Shaker award is Robert (Bob) Robinson.

Robinson, a native of Bossier City, graduated from Bossier High in 1958 and received a bachelor of art from Louisiana State University, and a master of science and a doctorate in public health from the University of Texas. The proud father of two sons and the doting grandfather of four, Robinson is married to JoAnna and manages a multidimensional business covering oil and gas exploration, health-care consulting and real estate.

“Bob is the perfect example of who a Mover & Shaker should be. He has donated time, effort and funds to the arts in both Bossier and Shreveport,” Leigh Ann Chambers, executive director of the Bossier Arts Council, said. “But more importantly, Bob is an advocate – a voice for the arts that continually reminds us of their importance in the community and our obligation to aid in their continued growth.”

Robinson’s civic activities include being the past president of the Shreveport Opera, past president of the Bossier Arts Council and board member of the Red Cross. He holds memberships in Shreveport Rotary, Bossier Lions Club and the Krewes of Aesclepius and Gemini.
