Byrd Band: The Byrd Yellow Jackets defeated Holy Cross 14-10 at Tad Gormley Stadium Nov. 29. The win earned Byrd a spot in the state championship game held Dec. 12 at the Superdome.

Shreve Library Anniversary: Shreve Memorial Library commemorated 90 years Dec. 6. The celebration will continue beyond December. Throughout 2014, SML will highlight our decadeslong role as a cornerstone of Caddo Parish through a number of special events. The library will host architecture tours, interactive special exhibits and digital collections, “maker” and “fabrication” activities, service projects and other special events alongside community partners. Every month will feature activities representing each decade of SML’s rich history, beginning with the 1920s in January. Las Vegas Night: Wine Country Bistro resembled a mini casino Dec. 7 for the 2013 Las Vegas Night. The event benefi ts the Betty and Leonard Phillips Deaf Action Center of Louisiana. Games included blackjack, craps and roulette. Each guest was given $400 in chips. There were also silent and live auctions. Food included chicken fajita blue and duck confi t corn tacos, quesadillas, egg rolls, sushi, fried oysters on the half shell, sliders, blue cheese and pecan crostini, black truffl e and wild mushroom pan purdue, meat pies and spiced pumpkin doughnuts for dessert.







Quota Club: The 22nd
annual Christmas Tour of Homes was held Dec. 8. Five Bossier City homes
decorated for Christmas could be viewed. They were in Carriage Oaks,
Oak Alley, Stonebridge and River Bluff subdivisions.

Daughters of American Revolution: The
Daughters of the American Revolution held a Christmas Luncheon on Dec.
10 at Superior Steakhouse. The group honored 100-year-old member, Emma
Sims Boyd with a 50-year member certifi cate and a Shreveport Chapter
Benefactor Certifi cate and Pin.

Prevot: Prevot
Design held an Open House and Christmas Party on Dec. 12 at its
location on Spring Street, the former auto museum. The Prevot team
provides architectural and interior design services. The location also
has an event venue.

Krewe of Elders: The Krewe of Elders held their Grande Bal 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Jan. 10 at the American Legion. The attire was black-tie optional.
