Two Locations:
SOUTH BOSSIER 3500 BARKSDALE BLVD. 318.747.2348
NORTH BOSSIER 2369 AIRLINE DR. STE. 500 (Across From Lowes) 318.549.1974
A festival atmosphere of flavor and music can always be found daily at both of El Mariachi’s Bossier City locations, seven days a week.
The first El Mariachi was opened in 2004 at 3500 Barksdale Blvd. and the second location at 2369 Airline Drive opened in 2008. Rigo and Blanca Angel are the owners. Both locations offer colorful and festive décor and fantastic food characterized by a freshness that is unsurpassed in the Shreveport-Bossier market.
“We offer something for everyone’s taste,” Rigo said.
And the menus are filled with items that range from traditional such as tacos, enchiladas and tamales to more adventurous selections such as tortas (Mexican sandwiches much like a po’boy) and special dishes such as the popular Alambre and Milaneza.
The Alambre comes with either tender beef or chicken mixed with bacon, bell pepper, onions and mushrooms topped with a generous covering of melted Monterey Jack cheese and served with rice, Pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream and your choice of refried beans or Charro bean soup and served with tortillas ... the Milaneza comes with your choice of beef or chicken battered in bread crumbs and served with Pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, rice and a choice of refried beans or Charro beans with tortillas.
A focus on seafood is another thing that sets El Mariachi apart from the competition. The Cocktel de Camarones (a delightfully refreshing Mexican take on the shrimp cocktail) is a tall glass container brimming with tender and delectable boiled shrimp swimming in a tangy sauce filled with chopped tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, cilantro and avocado slice.
Also don’t miss the Camarones Tequila, ten jumbo shrimp sautéed with Poblano peppers, onions, tomato and avocado. A 1/2 shot of tequila gives it a special zing. The Tacos Marineros are another treat for seafood lovers with three corn stuffed tacos with a mix of fish, shrimp, crab meat, celery, and tomatoes cooked with secretly blended spices and served deep fried with rice and beans and a slice of avocado.
Giving a nod to Louisiana, El Mariachi offer Fillete al Mojo De Ajo, two catfish filets smothered with butter and fresh garlic. These are served with fries, salad and a slice of avocado.
In addition to adhering to high standards of freshness, El Mariachi’s two locations are family friendly.
“We welcome kids and certainly enjoy helping our customers celebrate events whether birthdays anniversary or whatever may come up,” Blanca said.
Cleanliness is also another aspect of the restaurant business that is critically adhered to by the Angels and their staff.
“We insist on the facilities being kept as clean as possible because that relates directly to the health of our customers,” Rigo said.
Rigo worked for many years in the food and restaurant business before the couple opened their first El Mariachi. Blanca had spent many years in the retails industry.
“Thanks to my business background in retail, I am a real people person. That is something that is crucial to success in the dining industry,” Blanca said.
“Service is certainly something that sets us apart but more than anything, it is the fact that everything here is made from scratch,” Rigo said.

In August of 2014, El Mariachi will have a very special celebration noting their ten year anniversary.
“In the often fickle restaurant business, this kind of longevity speaks for our consistency in service and quality food,” Rigo said.
“We would certainly like to say a big Thank You to all of our customers. We appreciate everyone who has helped make our dream come true and we are committed to continuing to provide excellent food and flawless service to our many customers,” Blanca said.
Freshness from scratch, impeccable service and exquisite dishes are what has made El Mariachi a success and will continue to be the hallmarks for their continued growth and success.
