Jubilee: Members of the Krewe of Aesclepius supported Jambalaya Jubilee with a second line bead toss on the opening night followed by games with children on Saturday. Jambalaya Jubilee is an annual camp for children with diabetes held at Centenary College. The Krewe of Aesclepius is composed of area healthcare and medical professionals.

Goodwill: Eldorado Casino hosted the Goodwill Industries of North Louisiana Awards Celebration on May 9. Awards included 2012 Achiever of the Year, Graduate of the Year, Board Member of the Year, along with community and employee awards.

Spring Street: The Spring Street Museum was awarded a $10,000 grant from the National Daughters of the American Revolution on May 29 at Ristorante Giuseppe. The grant, which will be used to upgrade the museum’s permenent exhibits, was given out at the meeting of the Friends of the Spring Street Museum on May 29 at Ristorante Guissipe.

Feast: The Oaks of Louisiana hosted a fundraiser for Shreveport Green on June 13. “Feast! A Farm to Table Experience” was set in the pecan orchard on the grounds of Willis-Knighton’s Oaks of Louisiana. Chef Jason Brady, from Wine Country, Chef Matt Conover from The Oaks of Louisiana, and Michael Brady, from Brookshire’s Fresh, cooked up the meal, which featured Shreveport raised or grown ingredients.
