Realty is a new Shreveportbased real estate company that specializes in residential and commercial properties in Northwest Louisiana. Co-owners Randolph Smith and Nick McElhatten pride themselves on their local knowledge, having both been born and raised in Shreveport.

“We’ve grown up in this community, we know the people and we’re committed to providing the best service for our customers,” said Smith who moved back to Shreveport in late 2011 after graduating from SMU and working at a prominent real estate firm in Dallas.

“Your Local Advantage” is the slogan RCM adopted to best describe their philosophy for doing business. “We wanted to offer a truly local option, with exceptional customer service for people looking to buy and sell properties in Shreveport-Bossier,” said McElhatten, who began his career in real estate in Shreveport in 2005 and has been enjoying it ever since. As the owner of King Hardware, McElhatten knows first-hand how important it is to support Shreveport businesses and plans on running RCM Realty the same way. “We realize the

importance of the local economy and strive to use only locally owned business for our products.”

As an up and coming, local, real estate company, RCM looks to surround itself with the most knowledgeable and ethical realtors. “We want to shed any negative images that there are of the real estate profession,” said Robert McElhatten, RCM’s first realtor.

“Realtors are often viewed as cut throat salesmen looking only to make a buck. Since most of our clients are people we grew up with and people we will continue to see after the sale, we want them to be happy with their sale or purchase and feel that they were treated like family.” After all, family may be the reason Robert found real estate as the brother to coowner Nick McElhatten ,”Not only will I be able to help people, but I will be able to work with my brother.”

The owners and agents at RCM Realty not only pay close attention to personal service as it relates to the customer, but also to the property as well. With the technology that is available today, RCM’s agents can present properties to potential buyers like never before. “Everyone is used to picking up

the Sunday paper and looking at the homes for sale,” said Smith, “What they don’t realize is that the information is days old. Most of the quality properties sell quickly and never make it to the paper.” As seen in a commercial filmed by Shreveport native Kemerton Hargrove and set to air on KTBS, RCM wants its customers to have immediate access to homes for sale and uses the Multi Listing Service (MLS) to send its listings to several web-based real estate search engines. These listings are simultaneously posted to their website RCMbrokers.com. What’s special about that? RCM has exclusively joined with KTBS to have all the listings in the Shreveport/Bossier area available, easily, at the touch of a button. “We’ve partnered with KTBS on their mobile website,” said Smith “on their app their is a direct link to our search.” No more waiting until Sundays. Clients can also be setup to have properties in a certain area, price range, size, etc. emailed to them as they become available. Smith added, “We want our sellers to have every advantage to sell and our buyers to have every advantage to buy.”

RCM has also added a twist to the traditional way that homes are viewed. “Not only do we take pictures of the home like other companies do,” said Nick McElhatten, “we also have a more unique, in depth way for potential buyers to see their future home.” That unique way is a quad copter fitted with an HD camera that McElhatten flies around the properties giving buyers and sellers views they have never seen before. The copter, which can reach heights of 1000 feet can present images above the tree line and completely around the property. “This will give buyers a sense of how the property is oriented that pictures just can’t provide,” said Nick “and it’s really fun to see the results.”
