Pure Color at 6505 Line Avenue in Pierremont Common is approaching its one year anniversary. Owner Meredith Mighell was aiming for a distinctive, environmentally-conscious salon with up-to-date color technology that could also give back to the community. “Our salon is on the cozy side with a fun atmosphere,” she added.

Mighell moved back home to Shreveport and opened Pure Color last summer after honing her salon skills in New Orleans. “I did a lot of up-do styling down there and I developed some great skills,” she said. “I do this thing with embroidery thread and instead of using bobby pins, I sew up the whole thing. This wedding season, I’m going to be working on some very modern contemporary up-dos.”

Pure Color’s staff is a carefully selected and talented serving ensemble that includes esthetician Allie Anderson, stylists Camille Gladney Schmoutz and Brene Poland. “Everybody in the salon has their own kind of vibe,” said Mighell. “Allie has this hippie-flowerchild thing and Camille is the opera singer with a flair for the dramatic. Brene is a true artist.
