Charis Diggs, an accountant and “Jacquelin” of all trades, has a love for all things fashionable. Diggs has hosted and styled many local fashion shows and receives countless compliments on her daring personal style.

Favorite piece in your closet? DIGGS: Favorite piece is my Gianni Bini fur vest trimmed in gold embellishments, as well as a vintage gold sequin oversized blouse from Dolly Python Dallas, Texas.

Q:

Silver or gold? DIGGS: I’m definitely a true fan of gold accessories but when I’m feeling daring, I love mixed metals.

Q:

What color are your toes? DIGGS: Right now, I am wearing OPI “Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around”

Q:

Favorite scent? DIGGS: 1997 “Burberry Weekend” absolutely love this fragrance. It’s a blend of sweet floral fruity smell with a hint of fresh clean nature.

Q:

What is your “go to” outfit? DIGGS: In the chill of winter, it would have to be oversized shrugs, colorful scarfs and boots.

Q:

What is your style secret? DIGGS: Take risks and embrace what’s different. When I look at a blouse I think, ‘What other textures, patterns and colors could I add to this style without using the same colors from the blouse?’ To me, your attire from day to night should tell a story and have concept definition, and of course it should be daring.

Q:

Who is your style icon and why? DIGGS: I would have to say my style icon would have to be Solange Knowles. Her style showcases an unexpected design sense – eclectic trends with a vintage modern twist. I love how she mixes color, prints and patterns to achieve her bold look. Her chic style is a visual expression of who she is along with her dramatic natural protective hairstyles. Two of her known stylists are Ogo and Chichi Offodile, two Nigerian sisters who own a wardrobe and fashion styling company called Poodle Pushers.

Q:

What is your favorite local place to shop and why? DIGGS: My favorite local shopping places would be Goodwill, Olive Street Thrift & Vintage, Dillard’s, JCPenney and Target. I love one-of-a-kind vintage pieces I can mix with current trendy finds to achieve a look that is both unique and tell a story.
