Phillips takes title at 25th annual event | by Mary Ann Van Osdell

Larissa Phillips, the 18-year-old daughter of Collette and Lee Phillips, is the 25th Ms. BPCC, selected in a pageant Feb. 22 on campus. Seven other women competed in casual and evening wear with interviews held prior. Phillips is majoring in criminal justice. She plans to transfer to Stephen F. Austin to obtain a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and work as a patrol officer. Ms. BPCC first runner-up was Emily Jones, a sophomore engineering major. The Ms. BPCC contestants are judged on leadership in academic and extracurricular activities, citizenship, service to the college, poise, personality and personal attractiveness. Various prizes are awarded including a full-tuition scholarship plus books for the Ms. BPCC titleholder. Ms. BPCC represents Bossier Parish Community College as a spokesperson and community ambassador.
