Fundraiser features phantom theme

The melodious sounds of a piano greeted guests as they arrived at the Life Savers Masquerade Ball on Sept. 7 at Sam’s Town Casino and Hotel. The Phantom of the Opera-themed event supports Feist-Weiller Cancer Center and cancer research and treatment in the area. The chairmen of this year’s event were Melinda Kent and Maureen Gamble. The ball featured a delicious dinner, tasty champagne and even a Phantom-masked slice of decadent chocolate cake. There were also dozens of items up for auction including a trip to New York City, complete with a four-night stay in The Plaza Hotel, a Lee Michael’s shopping spree and plenty of LSU items.
