One app away from an organized inbox

These days, everyone has an email address. Some of us may even have more than one email address, one for work and another for personal.

If you have used an email address for any length of time, then chances are good you have used it to sign up for services, purchase something online or subscribe to a newsletter. Although you want these items at the time, they also invite other unwanted emails. Your inbox becomes flooded with advertisements, sales promotions, sweepstakes offers and unsolicited newsletters.

As your inbox grows and the task of clearing the cutter becomes part of your daily routine, you want to unsubscribe from everything. However, the problem with manually unsubscribing is that it is time-consuming. It often requires accessing multiple Web pages in order to be removed from each email list. Some are so annoying they send one final email to your inbox from which you must reply (again) that you no longer want to receive emails. Clear out your massive inbox clutter by mass unsubscribing to the junk email with Unroll. me.

Unroll.me is an email inbox organization service with a powerful unsubscribe feature. It allows you to easily clean up your inbox with just a few clicks, and it is a must-have for anyone who has racked up numerous unwanted email subscriptions. Unroll.me adds an Unsubscribe Me icon next to each of your emails in a list view. Simply click the icon once, and you will be unsubscribed forever. No more confirmation emails or multiple clicks of the mouse to be removed from an email list. One click, and you are done.

"As your inbox grows and the task of clearing the cutter becomes part of your daily routine, you want to unsubscribe from everything.”

But Unroll.me does not just remove the unwanted emails from your inbox. It also nicely organizes the ones you do want to keep in a daily summary that can be read at your convenience. This is Unroll.me’s Daily Rollup feature. Simply click the Daily Rollup icon next to your emails in list view, and future email correspondence from the sender will be contained in one daily synopsis, delivered at your scheduled time of preference. You still receive the information, but it is organized in one email summary, rather than cluttering your inbox with multiple emails throughout the day.

Unroll.me is free to use, and it works with Gmail, MSN, Yahoo and AOL email providers. You can also sign up with Unroll.me to be notified as more email service providers are added.

With all the de-cluttering you will do using Unroll.me, you might be motivated to also debunk the junk in other places, like your oldfashioned paper mailbox.

There is a tech solution to snail junk mail, too. PaperKarma is a smartphone app that stops unwanted paper mail. Using the app, take a picture of the junk mail with your smartphone’s camera. PaperKarma automatically contacts the mailer and removes you from their distribution list. Simply snap a photo and tap Unsubscribe to stop unwanted catalogs, coupon books, fliers, credit card offers and more.

Since it can take up to 30 days for mailers to remove you from their distribution list, you will not see next-day results. But give PaperKarma some time and watch your junk mail decrease month after month. PaperKarma is available for both Apple and Android smartphones, and the app is free.
