The MELROSE HOUSING AUTHORITY, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from Contractors for the Vacancy Renovations at State Aided Development: 969 Main Street (705-2B) 969 Main Street, Melrose, MA 02176 Lebanon Street (705-2) 487-489 Lebanon Street, Melrose, MA 02176 in accordance with the documents prepared by REVERSE ARCHITECTURE.

The Project consists of but not limited to: Interior renovations to vacant units at 489 Lebanon St and 969 Main St. Both units are upper floors of 2-family wood-framed houses. Work includes new finishes and cabinetry, painting, plumbing, electrical, new heating systems, new electrical service, mold remediation, asbestos abatement, lead remediation. Site work at 969 Main St includes a new water line from the street and new underground electrical service. Reconstruct an exterior wood-framed stair and new concrete walkway in the back yard.

The work is estimated to cost $1,001,500.00.

RFP Design Services 61 Park Street LLC – Exterior Façade Project

Project Description:

The Brookline Housing Authority (BHA) is soliciting proposals for Architectural/ Engineering design services for the exterior façade renovations project at one of the Brookline Housing Authority’s (BHA) elderly/disabled housing developments in Brookline, Massachusetts. The primary goal of this project is to ensure the building is watertight and free from water penetration.

The building is listed on the State Register of Historic Places. The project is being partially funded with a grant from the Massachusetts Preservation Projects Fund through the Massachusetts Historical Commission.

All work must be performed in accordance with the documents prepared by and available from the Spencer Preservation Group, 41 Valley Road, Nahant Massachusetts, Massachusetts 01908 (617-227-2675) and meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. State law prohibits discrimination. Awarding of this contract is subject to Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity guidelines.

Bids shall be evaluated on the basis of price, previous experience with similar types of construction projects, ability to perform the work in a timely manner, and references.
