PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT MASSACHUSETTS BAY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY

Solicitation for Design and Engineering Services for Green Line Dedicated High Speed and Low Speed Test Track Project

REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS MBTA CONTRACT NUMBER T28PS01

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority is soliciting Engineering, and Design Consulting Services 15%- 100%, Bid Phase and Construction Phase Services for the Green Line Type 10 Dedicated High Speed and Low Speed Test Track Project. The Scope of Service(s) may include but are not limited to: track, power (AC and DC), signals, structural, environmental services, and construction planning and phasing. As this project will be constructed within and adjacent to residential and recreational/conservation areas, the Consultant shall also include staff experienced in public outreach and engagement to assist the GLT Project Manager through public and stakeholder meetings and engagements. The primary purpose of the Green Line HSTT and LSTT Project is to create dedicated tracks to support Type 10 pilot car and production car dynamic testing at full and reduced speeds. This effort is expected to help the MBTA meet all the requirements for the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) CIG Core Capacity grant.

The scope of services will be authorized on professional services contract basis. The contract duration for this Project will be two (2) years. Project Design and Bid Phase Services are expected to be completed within eighteen (18) months from NTP. Advanced material procurement specification shall be completed and submitted within six (6) months of NTP. Preliminary Design shall be submitted no later than April 30, 2024, to retain eligibility under the Core Capacity program. Both test tracks are required to be constructed, commissioned, and turned over by January 30, 2026.

This project is expected to utilize Federal funding. The DBE participation goal for this project is 20% of the total amount authorized. In addition, the Authority strongly encourages the use of Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises as prime consultants, sub-consultants, and suppliers in all of its contracting opportunities.

Brookline Housing Authority November 29, 2023 Kickham Apartments Masonry Repair project

Invitation to Bid

The Brookline Housing Authority, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from Contractors for the Kickham Apartments Masonry Repair project in Brookline, Massachusetts in accordance with the documents prepared by Gale Associates, Inc.

The project consists of: Masonry repairs to the exterior bricks and mortar, removal and replacement of masonry throughwall flashings, installation of new masonry expansion joints, and repairs to the interior concrete masonry units at the stairwells. The project is located at 190 Harvard Street in Brookline, MA. The work is estimated to cost $550,000 for the base bid.

Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 §44A-J & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.l49 §§26 to 27H inclusive as well as the Federal Davis Bacon Act Prevailing Wage Rates. THIS PROJECT IS BEING ELECTRONICALLY BID AND HARD COPY BIDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Please review the instructions in the bid documents on how to register as an electronic bidder. The bids are to be prepared and submitted at www.biddocsonline.com. General Bids will be received until 1:00pm on Tuesday, 19 December 2023 and publicly opened online, forthwith.

All Bids should be submitted online at www.biddocsonline.com and received no later than the date and time specified above. General bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates), and made payable to the Brookline Housing Authority.

Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available for pick-up at www.biddocsonline.com (may be viewed electronically and hardcopy requested) or at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568- 1167).

There is a plan deposit of $50.00 per set (maximum of 2 sets) payable to BidDocs ONLINE Inc.

Plan deposits may be electronically paid or by check. This deposit will be refunded for up to two sets for general bidders and for one set for sub-bidders upon return of the sets in good condition within thirty (30) days of receipt of general bids. Otherwise the deposit shall be the property of the Awarding Authority. Additional sets may be purchased for $50.00.

Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $40.00 per set for UPS Ground (or $65.00 per set for UPS overnight), nonrefundable, payable to the BidDocs ONLINE Inc., to cover mail handling costs.

INVITATION TO BID

Preservation Worcester, the Awarding Authority, requests bids from pre-selected contractors for the Phase 1 Exterior Restoration at Salisbury House, 61 Harvard Street, Worcester, MA, which is listed in the State and National Registers of Historic Places. The work generally consists of removal and replacement of the existing historic wood siding, decking, trim, gutter, copper flashing, and slate roofing, where indicated on the drawings.

The project is being partially funded with a grant from the Massachusetts Preservation Projects Fund through the Massachusetts Historical Commission. All work must be performed in accordance with the documents prepared by Lamoureux Pagano Associates | Architects (LPA|A), 108 Grove Street, Suite 300, Worcester, MA 01605, tel. (508) 752-2831 and meet the Secretary of the Interior Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. State law prohibits discrimination. Awarding of the contract is subject to Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity guidelines.

Bids shall be evaluated on the basis of price, previous experience with similar types of construction projects, ability to perform the work in a timely manner, and references. All bids must be delivered or emailed to the architect’s office at the above address prior to 1:00 pm, Monday, December 18, 2023, to be eligible for consideration and all the grant-funded work must be completed by June 30, 2024.
