CARLOS GONZÁLEZ

State Representative Carlos González, Chair of the Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security, has been appointed to the conference committee to resolve the differences between H4807/S2951 — An act financing the general governmental infrastructure of the Commonwealth.

González will be joined on the committee by Representative Danielle Gregoire, House chair of the Committee on Bonding, Capital Expenditures, and State Assets, and Representative David Vieira as well as senators William Brownsberger, Nick Collins and Ryan Fattman. The over $5 billion bond bill would authorize funds to be borrowed to finance projects related to municipal government, local needs, state-owned buildings, higher-education, public safety, the courts, housing, economic and workforce development, environmental impacts, food security, corrections and state police. The conference committee will work to create a compromise between the House and Senate versions of the bill, which would be subsequently voted on by both chambers and laid before the Governor for signing.

“I would like to thank Speaker Mariano for granting me the honor of serving on this conference committee,” said González.

“The projects addressed in this bond bill impact a variety of important topics for the citizens of Massachusetts, including housing, economic development, public safety, and many more. I am eager to get to work on building consensus for these important projects.”
