TRY OUT PORTION CONTROL

Eating a balanced diet can help you maintain a healthy weight or maybe lose a few pounds, but eating the right amount of those foods is just as important. Here are some tips about portion control, according to bodyandsoul.com:

Portion aside 1⁄3 of your meal or snack into another container. After eating, wait at least 20 minutes and only eat the extra third if you are truly hungry.

In general, your plates should consist of 1⁄2 plate of a low starch vegetable, 1⁄4 plate of lean protein, 1⁄4 plate of complex carbohydrates and one tablespoon of healthy fats.

Instead of eating straight out of the packet, portion out a serving of food on a plate or in a small bowl for snacks.

Eat away from distractions and listen to your body’s hunger cues.

Try serving dinner on smaller plates or take smaller storage containers to work for lunch.
