Ockham’s Razor

Ockham’s Razor welcomes one and all to a Meet-the-Band party on Friday at Riverside Rock-n-Roll on Mechanicsburg Road. The group of veteran, area musicians, including Jeff Helton (guitar and vocals), Brad Davis (drums), Steve Emmons (keyboards, Leslie, vocals), Ron Ninmer (bass), takes their name from the popular Latin saying credited to a monk named Ockham from the 14 th century that roughly translates to, “All things being equal, the simplest solution is usually best.” The band formed a few months ago to play favorite songs of the musicians and to “simply be one of the best bands in central Illinois.” By bringing decades of music experience to the group and performing many classic songs of the ’60s and ’70s, it looks like the guys are off to a good start of reaching their goal, all things being equal, of course.
