Weatherization workshop

Heating a house in the winter can put a strain on the pocketbook, so the city of Springfield is offering a workshop to help reduce the cost of utility bills. City Water, Light and Power is offering a 90-minute workshop focusing on home energy efficiency improvements that can be done by anyone for little to no cost. Those who attend the workshop will receive hands-on experience installing a variety of weatherization products, including caulk, weatherstripping and flexible interior storm windows. CWLP is also giving participants a free starter kit that includes many of the products featured in the workshop. Preregistration is required. The CWLP Energy Services Office is also providing Low- Cost/No-Cost Efficiency Workshops to interested churches, neighborhood associations and other community and civic groups with an attendance of at least 15. Reservations for CWLP’s Low-Cost/No- Cost Efficiency Workshops are taken on a first-come/first-served basis.
