First off, the band is not from Rockford, Illinois, or any Rockford anywhere. The indie-rock quartet consists of high school students from Springfield (class of 2019) who named the band in honor of a friend whose family moved to Rockford, Illinois. The band got together to play and have fun, with a couple members learning and/or relearning their instruments along the way. That didn’t stop or even worry bandmates Adam Skowronski, Drew Harmon, Ryan Waldinger and Will Moffett, especially after they won the popular vote during Black Sheep Cafe’s Battle of the Bands in October of 2017, thereby scoring a slot in the BSC’s Christmas show. With several catchy original songs in their repertoire combined with an innate penchant for sounding cool as a “soft-alt band” of self-taught musicians, the self-appointed friends are enjoying a growing fan base and playing out on a regular basis. Go, Rockford!
