An accomplished and successful Nashville songwriter, Jacob Lyda has had cuts by artists such as Blake Shelton (“Doin’ it to Country Songs,” 2016) and Uncle Si from “Duck Dynasty.” The Stevenson, Alabama, native came on strong with a solo career in the late 90s, spending quite a bit of time playing in Europe. He took a break from the music madness then hit it again in the mid-2000s, working with the Texas-based Davis Music Group. Now he’s concentrating on his songwriting career and writing with big guys such as Paul Overstreet and other Nashville songwriting stars, plus local songwriter Amy Benton, as well as Riverton native and Nashville transplant Lyman Ellerman. His voice is pure country and considered a treasure. His delivery is all about getting the song across, and his songwriting strikes a classic country vein with a twist. During his visit to central Illinois, Lyda will perform in the Nashville style of songwriter-in-the-round formats, sharing songs with Benton and Irwin.
