Springfield’s only Halloween party for dogs will take place on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Stuart Park. The event will feature dog games and activities as well as a dog costume contest at 1:30 p.m. During the contest, local celebrity judges will award prizes in four categories: best overall costume, most funny, most creative and best pet/owner combination. There is a fee of $2 per entry for the costume contest. Other attractions include demonstrations from Joe Blankenship, vendors, a kids’ area for your two-footed children, and concessions and complimentary treat bags for the first 100 attendees. For the fun and safety of all involved with Boo Bark, this event is open to healthy, leashed dogs only. No puppies under four months of age will be admitted and no more than two dogs per human.
