Based out of St. Louis while reaching out across the Midwest, Kingdom Brothers are achieving their stated goal “to do something really different on the St. Louis music scene,” as professed by founding member Bob Walther. Since 2005, Walther plus bandmates Stan Gill (keyboard), Ron Roskowske (lead guitar), Joe Warmbrodt (drums) and Chris Shepherd (guitar, vocals) can list a string of accomplishments, including their 2015 trip to the International Blues Challenge in Memphis to represent the St. Louis Blues Society, a performance that brought the group to the semifinals in the prestigious and competitive event. Shepherd, the singer-songwriter in the group, presents the positive attitude the band takes towards the blues in songs like “The Blues Don’t Have to Be Sad” and “Testify,” showcasing the fiery, gospel-edged influences the band can bring to the stage. They’ve played the premier blues venues and festivals in St. Louis, received considerable airplay on radio station KDHX, and released a couple of all-original CDs. The group continues on as one of the best blues bands in St. Lou.
