A delightfully talented trio of young women, Harpeth Rising is an amazing string band with intensely good harmonies, intricate instrumental work and singer-songwriter songs.

Jordana Greenberg (violin, lead vocals), Michelle Younger (banjo, vocals) and Maria Di Meglio (cello, vocals) bring classically trained musicianship to folk and new-grass styles of music, bridging a gap between the two often disparate traditions. All three musicians are graduates of the famed Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, and the trio named the group after a river south of Nashville. The response to their last record, SHIFTED, put them atop the Folk DJ charts and into prestigious festivals such as the Kerrville Folk Festival (Texas), the National Folk Festival (Australia), Brevard Music Festival (North Carolina), Musicport Festival (England) and Costa Del Folk (Portugal). Now they’re out promoting a new release called Against All Tides, explained as an “exploration of spirituality in place of fundamentalism, uncertainty as philosophy, and an unwavering declaration that human connection is the ultimate force for good in the universe.”
