On July 28-29, Jacksonville High School will be the site of the annual celebration for central Illinois quilters, the River Country Quilt Show. The show is a popular destination for local quilt enthusiasts and will feature more than 250 displays of quilted items such as modern quilts, antique quilts and bed tuning. Attendees will enjoy shopping from area vendors, raffles, and quilt appraisals by Hallye Bone, a quilter since 1967, renowned today throughout the United States for her popular lectures and teaching workshops. An appointment is required for each appraisal, which costs $40 and is separate from the quilt show admission fee. Appointments can be set by calling 245-5445.
