Local music lovers rejoice, for Springfield’s yearly showcase of original music, art and craft beer has returned. The seventh annual Downhome Music Festival features 22 bands, mostly local acts, on three stages across two days, with performances from Josh Reilly, Wolf Crick Boys, Go Tsunami, Owen & Dooley, Lidlifter, The Station, Marah and Micah Walk on Friday; and Attic Salt, Looming, Jukebox Casanova, The Timmys, Josh Catalano & The Dirty Thoughts, Park, and NIL8 (just to name a few) on Saturday. Additionally, both days of the festival will feature a kids’ area complete with bounce house, water slides and face painting; shopping with local artists; food available for purchase; and more than 100 craft beers, including the first-ever Downhome beer, a Saison Farmhouse Ale brewed by Rolling Meadows Brewery. Admission to the Downhome Music Festival is by the day. Advance tickets may be purchased directly from the performing musicians directly, or at the gate for $6.
