What does the son of legendary, iconic drummer Ginger Baker do with the drumming gene? He plays music on the drums, and that’s what Kofi Baker does. Beginning with a drumming debut TV experience with dad at age six, the long and winding road of this working musician includes duets during the early 80s with Ginger, followed by gigs with Randy California, tours with Jack Bruce and others, plus making two fusion music albums. After spending time in Colorado with dad in the mid 90s, as seen in the documentary Beware of Mr. Baker, Kofi moved to Los Angeles, toured extensively and founded his renowned drumming school. About a decade ago he relocated to Indiana and created the Cream Experience, using highly accomplished musicians (currently Chicago guitar master Fran Banish and veteran bassist Dennis Keith Johnson) to interpret and improvise songs by Cream, the Beatles, Blind Faith and other bands of the era. In a few weeks he embarks on a “Music of Cream” tribute tour through Australia with Malcolm Bruce (son of Jack), Will Johns (nephew of Eric) and special guest Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Trapeze).
