On Black Friday, escape the stress and headaches generated by crowds and shopping and enjoy some family-friendly fun at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. The ALPL’s Fun Frosty Friday event features free games and activities for children of all ages and their families. Kids can create a coded message for and visit with Santa, race Hot Wheels cars, and play a life-sized version of Candy Land. Other activities include magic shows, face painting, readings of Twas the Night before Christmas, cookies and hot chocolate, and games. Although the event is free, the library will be accepting Angel Tree and monetary donations for Sojourn Shelter, a Springfield-based emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence. Additionally, attendees of Fun Frosty Friday will be able to enjoy a two-for-one admission deal at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum immediately following the event.
