This Friday, visit DEMO Project for the opening receptions of “Sequel Sequence” by Mark Reamy and “Tie Them Up” by Angela Lopez. “Sequel Sequence” is a stunning installation that explores Vermont-based artist Mark Reamy’s fascination with the ways in which the present can influence and shape the past. Reamy’s exhibition “defies the laws of physics by allowing multiple light beams to coexist by pointing 35 mm slide projectors at a spinning, semi-translucent disco ball.” Each photograph represents a memory, a fixed moment in time. By combining these slides, Reamy is conflating accounts to form new stories in a constantly changing world. Chicago-based artist Angela Lopez’s “Tie Them Up” takes a look at two metaphorical wolves from an old Cherokee wives’ tale. The interdisciplinary artist utilizes video and sculpture to blend the two metaphorical wolves into one physical space. The two wolves represent the balance between good and evil. Both exhibitions are available for viewing during the reception from 6-8:30 p.m. on Friday, and on Saturday afternoons through Dec. 10 from 1-4 p.m. For more information about the DEMO Project, visit http://demoprojectspace.com.
