CRIME | Cutting crime with cool cars
It’s not often you get to help improve public safety by going to a party and looking at amazing cars, but that’s the idea behind the Crime Stoppers Hangar Party on Sept. 4. Crime Stoppers of Sangamon and Mendard Counties is a nonprofit focusing on partnerships between law enforcement and the public to solve and prevent crimes. Their first-ever “Take Flight in the Fight Against Crime” fundraiser is planned for the LRS Hangar at the airport, where Dick Levi, co-founder of Springfield IT firm Levi, Ray and Shoup, stores his incredible car and motorcycle collection. If you’ve never been, you’re missing out. If that’s not enough to woo you, there’s also going to be food from Hy-Vee’s Market Grill, drinks and music from The Deep Hollow and The Shenanigans. Tickets are $10 at the door. Find more info at www.cashfortips.us or by calling 622-9547.
