FILM | Living and working with Viv
Finding Vivian Maier is a critically acclaimed documentary about a mysterious photographer by the name of Vivian Maier, who shot more than 100,000 photos and hid them away in storage lockers for decades.
Two years before her death in 2009, Vivian’s photos were discovered at an auction house on Chicago’s North Side by John Maloof. Today, Vivian Maier is recognized as one of the greatest street photographers of the 20 th century. Thursday’s special presentation features Linda Matthews, who employed the eccentric Vivian as the nanny of her three children during the 1980s. Vivian, known to the family as Viv, was in her 50s at the time of her employment. During this presentation, Linda will share her thoughts on living and working with Vivian Maier. She will also display photographs of her family, shot by Maier. This presentation is free and open to the public. For more information, visit http://jaxpl.org.
