AVIATION | The first commercial airliner

This weekend, aviation enthusiasts have the opportunity to fly on one of the world’s first commercial airliners, the Liberty Ford 5-AT-B. The tri-motor plane will be offering flights out of Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport this weekend only. Flights are available on Thursday from 2-5 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Liberty Ford 5-AT-B, nicknamed “The Tin Goose” will transport passengers back in time to the golden age of aviation when air travel was considered one of the highest luxuries. The plane, which flew its’ first flight on December 1, 1928, is owned and operated today by the Experimental Aircraft Association. Advance flight pricing is $70 for adults and $50 for children ages 17 and under. Military and veterans with ID fly for $50. Walk-up pricing is $75.
