On Tuesday, July 2, a higher education diverse business opportunity fair will be held at the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign, to be attended by representatives from Illinois public universities and business owners from across the state. The fair is an opportunity for the disabled, military veterans, minorities and women business owners to meet face-to-face with university buyers from across the state to learn about procurement opportunities and the benefi ts of becoming a certifi ed diverse vendor with the state. The fair will offer panel discussions and workshops offering resources to assist business owners. According to Sharla Roberts, director of procurement diversity for the University of Illinois, “State of Illinois public universities want to create a more open and transparent playing fi eld for small and diverse businesses to benefi t from procurement opportunities.” The fair will be held at the iHotel and Conference Center, 1900 South First Street, Champaign.
