On Saturday, March 28, Decatur’s Prairieland Punishers, a women’s flat-track roller derby league, will host the Central Illinois Showdown roller derby bout. This bout is the 2015 season home opener for the Punishers, whose two teams will compete in two bouts on Saturday. The Prairieland Punishers Backlash will take on the McLean County Missfits at 5 p.m., while the Prairieland Punisher All-Stars will take on the Twin City Dead Ringers at 7 p.m. The Backlash consists of new talent and veteran skaters while the All-Stars are comprised of top-notch skaters from all over central Illinois. Adult tickets can be purchased for $10 in advance at http://punishersderby.com or for $15 at the door. Children’s tickets are $5 for ages 12 and under and free for children under 5.
