BAND SPOTLIGHT | Terri Clark

Terri Clark joined the prestigious Grand Ole Opry in 2004 as the only female Canadian on the show. She grew up in Montreal, where her maternal grandparents were well known country music performers. In 1987, her mom drove the aspiring artist to Nashville, dropped her off at the famed Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, and the rest, as they say, is history. She first hit the big time in 1995 with the song “Better Things to Do,” then built a respectable and consistent career of sparkling live performances backed with records of good songs. Her latest album, “Classic,” takes listeners on a four decade span of Terri’s influences through covers of songs by Kitty Wells, Tanya Tucker, Linda Ronstadt, Reba McEntire, Neil Young and others. Her touring band consists of top-shelf Nashville players who came to Music City USA from various parts to make music for a living. Clark plays guitar and banjo to make for a very entertaining show of quality music performance, a standard at her concerts.
