MORE POWER TO YA With the summer heat building, electricity bills can get out of hand. Luckily, Springfi eld residents have a new way to track their energy usage. The spiffy new website of City Water, Light and Power brings the utility into the modern age with the ability to monitor power and water usage, check a current bill, manage personal information and view payment history. The new site is easier to navigate, organizing most information into overhead “dropdown” menus. No longer must customers download a PDF, print it out, fi ll it in and mail it in to accomplish simple tasks like requesting automatic payment withdrawal or transferring service to a new address. Now it’s all done in a few clicks through the new site. (The trusty old snailmail or walk-in methods still work, too.) And say goodbye to your paper bill: the new site allows you to sign up for electronic billing. While you’re on the site, don’t forget to order a copy of the riveting pamphlet, The History of Drinking Water in Springfi eld. (We say that only half tongue-in-cheek…it actually looks pretty interesting.) As always, the site is www.cwlp.com. See also
