Lincoln Land Community College’s Workforce Development division offers workshops this summer for the general public to learn or improve their work skills, but others with a personal interest in the subject matter may sign up, too. Sessions include topics such as welding, forklift safety and biodiesel production. One course caught our eye – Sustainable Lawns and Landscapes. Held Saturday, June 22, you will learn how to design, implement and maintain an attractive and environmentally friendly lawn and landscape. Instruction will include proper plant selection and maintenance techniques without overuse of chemicals, water and gasoline. Register online or by phone.
