ART | In motion

The Illinois State Museum focuses on art and movement in a free family event, Art on the Move, Saturday, June 23. Motion-inspired activities and crafts are highlighted. Children can make blurred action photographs, and then create a oneof-a-kind frame with artist Rhiannon Gurley. They can also try some simple yoga inspired by art at 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. with Springfield teacher Dave Morgan. Springfield artist Gigi Diabate will demonstrate her method of painting on a spinning canvas.

Other attractions include spinning mobiles, twirling optical illusions and rag rugs woven on hula hoops. The program is part of the Educational Series sponsored by Bank of Springfield.
