First Presbyterian Church offers a free lunchtime concert with pianist Agnes Wan on Wednesday, Nov. 30, starting at 12:15 p.m. Attendees may bring their lunch or purchase one at the door for $5. A Hong Kong native, Wan has won numerous awards from around the world. With a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance and pedagogy from the University of Iowa, she also holds degrees from Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Loyola University New Orleans and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Additionally, her passion for the music of Johann Sebastian Bach led her to mentor with the renowned Chinese pianist Yuan Sheng, who studied intensively with legendary Bach expert, Rosalyn Tureck. Concerts at the church are each Wednesday during Advent. Upcoming shows in order of their appearance include: Joel Tinsley, baritone; John Sherer, organ; and Rudolf Zuiderveld, organ.
