BAND SPOTLIGHT | Sleepwalker
When four, decades-long, friends hooked up in the spring of 2008 for a “fun side project” band, no one dreamed someday they’d be celebrating and promoting a third anniversary show.
Sleepwalker cohorts Keith Dunlap (guitar, vocals), Kortney Leatherwood (drums, vocals), Rusty Koehler (bass, vocals) and Ted Russell (guitar, vocals) describe the group as “four friends, good music, good times” and prefer the intimacy and excitement of the bar scene for shows. The handy quartet does a dandy number on the rock genre by balancing classic bands, such as the Beatles and Led Zeppelin, Dire Straits and the Cure, with more contemporary groups like Green Day, Sister Hazel and the Black Crowes. Three strong lead vocalists allow for frequent set list re-workings, keeping the band fresh and the audience happy. In celebrating three years of band-dom, Sleepwalker wishes to extend a hearty thanks to fans, family and friends “for the help and support along the way” and to say, “you will always be in our thoughts.” Rock on, guys!
