CHILDREN | Upgrade 3.11

The Illinois State Museum upgraded its facilities for children and launches the space March 26 as they cut the ceremonial ribbon at 9:30 a.m. to open the new Mary Ann MacLean Play Museum. Family-oriented entertainment, games, activities and crafts highlight an entire day of fun throughout the museum. Watch magicians and jugglers, hear storytellers, worm through a cave, construct a museum diorama and more. The new gallery offers ages three through 11 a larger, more engaging hands-on experience of what it is like to work in a museum. The space replaces the 29-year-old A Place for Discovery, now a resource center. More info about the event and museum can be found at museum.state.il.us.
