THEATER | Bitingly hilarious

New York-based actor Jay Randall (pictured) suits up as Crumpet the elf in the cult classic, The Santaland Diaries, at the Hoogland Center for the Arts Club Room.

Written by NPR humorist David Sedaris, this adult production follows not just any merry elf, but Crumpet, an out-of-work actor trying to earn some bread, who tastes so much Christmas craziness this could go down as his worst gig ever. Randall’s credits include national commercials “Wendy’s” and “Otto,” New York theater and independent films Upside Out and Goulman. Sponsored by the Hoogland Center for the Arts, Penny Lane Gifts and Illinois Times, this bitingly hilarious play is in association with The Little Theatre on the Square, and directed by Tralen Doler, artistic director of the Little Theatre.
